What is “in a nutshell”?

The website is a practice-oriented continuing education platform and reference work for professionals. Specialists are persons who are registered as doctors in the Medical Professional Register of the Federal Office of Public Health (MedReg) and have a valid Global Location Number (“GLN number”), such as in particular general practitioners and internists (“specialists”). The website provides professionals with easy and quick access to comprehensibly formulated, practice-oriented and practice-relevant information.

Medical information

The website contains medical information from various sources, including third parties, which is directed at professionals and constitutes general information for these professionals. We provide the information on this website solely as a general reference work and for the further training of professionals. In particular, the general information does not serve as medical information for laypersons or as instructions for action in specific individual cases.

The information on this website, as well as information provided to professionals via the website or via linked communication tools such as “Ask Dr. Nuts” or in the “Digital Doctor’s Kit”, does not constitute advice in the medical, diagnostic or therapeutic sense and does not constitute advice, treatment or application recommendations for the individual case or instructions for such.

When using medical devices and medical preparations mentioned on the website, the operating instructions and package inserts must be studied carefully and the instructions contained therein must be followed. The prescription and use of medical preparations and devices mentioned on the website is the responsibility of the healthcare professional.

The website and the information provided are intended exclusively for professionals and do not constitute a recommendation or advertisement of the diagnostic methods, treatments or medicinal products described or mentioned. Digital Doctor’s Bag

The calculators, scores, guidelines and other medical information in the Digital Doctor’s Bag™ are intended for use by healthcare professionals only. The Digital Medical Bag™ includes features similar to simple general purpose tools such as written calculations based on scientific scores or simple calculators. They are used to perform simple medical calculations that are taught in medical education and routinely used in clinical practice. The information provided is based on publicly published and generally accessible studies and research results and has been carefully checked. However, we do not accept any liability for the results obtained using the Digital Doctor’s Bag™ or the scientific basis on which the information provided is based.

User account

Professionals can register on the website and open a client account. To open a customer account, professionals must register with an e-mail address, provide the requested personal information, enter a password and have a Global Location Number (“GLN number”). The access data to the user account must be treated confidentially. Pro Medicus is not responsible if the access data become known to unauthorised third parties and are misused by them. The Client account can be used to access services offered on the Website, such as access to medical information (“Library”) or to order professional publications and other documents.  In addition, it grants access to the inventory data (name, address, e-mail, telephone, etc.) and, depending on the offer, also to data on orders placed or invoices, and it enables these data to be managed.

Participation in events

Professionals can register on the website for events organised by Pro Medicus or Pro Medicus partners. The respective conditions of participation apply, which can be viewed at the time of registration. Pro Medicus is not responsible for events organised by third parties. In the event of questions, suggestions, etc., the respective third party provider should be contacted.

Scope of use and copyrights

The information published on the website comes from a wide variety of sources. The copyrights and all other rights to the content (texts, images, graphics, photos, audio and video content or other files) on the website belong to Pro Medicus or the respective named rights holders who make information available on the website.

All content on this website is intended for private, non-commercial use. The reproduction of any elements as well as the commercial use of the contents are prohibited without the prior written consent of the rights holders. The use of this website does not confer any licence or other right to use the contents of this website. The use of this website and all disputes arising therefrom shall be governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of international private law and the Vienna Sales Convention. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich.

These General Terms and Conditions of Use shall enter into force upon publication (the online version shall prevail). They replace any previous versions.
